PPA is 'Makaton Friendly' school
Staff at Penryn Primary Academy have been working hard to achieve 'Makaton Friendly' status for the school and their hard work has paid off!
'Makaton Friendly' is a unique partnership programme which helps organisations and communities to improve accessibility for anyone living with learning or communication difficulties. The scheme drives inclusivity to help create a fairer and more tolerant society for all. The majority of PPA staff have received at least level 1 training and signs and symbols are used throughout the school day to ensure a truly inclusive environment.
Penryn Primary Academy is now the only school in Cornwall to be recognised as 'Makaton Friendly' by the charity and one of just two organisations recognised in the Duchy on their 'Makaton Friendly' map.
